Tag Tuesday – The End of the Year Book Tag

Hello, my wonderlandians! Happy Tuesday. I feel like I have a Christmas hangover. I am so tired but alas I am working today.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I really need to finish Severed Wings by Kelly Carrero.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

No I do not.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Not for this year. All of the books that I want are coming out in the New year.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Immerse by Tobie Easton

That is about it right now. I am sure there will be others. I  really don’t keep up with new releases. This was a book series that I discovered this year

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

It is not just one book. I have been reading a lot of books about mermaids this year. Every book that I have read has been amazing!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?

Yes, I will be posting all about that this Sunday and Monday!

Thank you all for joining me here in our own part of wonderland. Feed the unicorns on your way.

Until next time

Much love

Tag Tuesday – The Winter Tag

Happy Tuesday my wonderlandians. I hope your day started by a unicorn taking you to work. Mine did not start that way at all. I got up and had to defrost my car. I do this every morning lately. Snow. SMH. I am here with another tag for you. This time it is The Winter Tag.  Please enjoy.

1. What books are you hoping to get to this winter?

I don’t usually keep a TBR for winter. I usually just look at my books and see which one catches my eyes, but if I get gift cards for Christmas like I do every year. I will just go to amazon see what looks good buy those and read them. Everything else gets put on the back of the TBR list. Although, there are three books that I really want to get to by the end of the year. The dueology of Once a Witch, Always a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough. I try to read her books at least once a year. These have slowly become a tradition for me to read either at the end of the year or just right after the new year. Of course, I want to get to Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. These are the three books I want to get to.

2. Which character’s personality is as cold as ice?

Alistair Knight from Once a Witch, Always a Witch series. He is such a jerk. I will not go into detail. You really need to read the books. If you guys want more info on the books. They were mentioned in my Top Three Thursday blog post. So go check it out.

He is just so nasty.

3. Winter is a time for gift giving. What has been your favorite book you’ve received as a gift?

When I was younger I got this book from my grandma. I still have it. It was a red velvet cover of The Secret Garden. I have not read it. I have tried. It is my favorite book. I also got a book from her of  The Velveteen Rabbit my cat sadly destroyed that one.  She was old and peed all over it. My bookshelves were really close to grown and she got up there and peed.  She was old like 20 years old and could no longer find her litter box. It is really sad.

4. With Christmas and New Year it’s party season, but which character would you least like to get stuck talking to at a party?

Toby Pilgrim from Geek Girl. I feel really bad saying that. He is such a sweet character even though he does stalk the main character. He is one of those nerdy guys that had to correct you on everything. It drives me crazy. Therefore he would be my choice.

5. If you celebrate Christmas… Do you have any Christmas traditions? How do you spend the day?

Picking out our family tree

Making cookies

Going to my boyfriend’s mom’s house to make ornaments

We spend Christmas Eve with my grandparents. Opening up presents. Then Christmas day with my family. This year is going to be a bit different because I have moved out with my boyfriend.

6. Favourite Christmas film, TV special & song?

Home Alone

Anything by Michael Bublé and The Happiest Christmas Tree by Nat King Cole.

As always, thank you for joining me here in our little part of Wonderland. If you want a wish granted please stop by and feed the unicorns.

Until next time.

Much love

Free Friday!

Hello, my wonderlandians! Happy Friday. Are you guys excited for the weekend? What are you guys going to be reading this weekend?

So I want to give you guys some recommendations about some free books that I have read over the years. I thought  I would start off with one of the first ones I ever read. It is called Meant to Be. It was written by Tiffany King.

Krista Miller feels like she has lived her entire life in a glass box with her every emotion on display. She can’t help feeling like a defect as her sensitivities have made her socially inept and without any real friends; the one exception being the boy that visits her each night in her dreams.

Krista’s emotions are put to the test when a move to California triggers a devastating change to her fantasy world. The nightly comfort that the boy provides has now become a recurring nightmare as he is taken from her by an unseen force.

Struggling to appear normal, Krista enrols in a new school and finds it to be nothing like she thought. Her new life is sent spiralling out of control from a strange connection with a boy, Mark, who claims to know all her secrets.

As Krista begins to explore the emotions that Mark evokes in her, secrets about their mysterious past and their predestined purpose threaten to separate them just when they have found each other.

My thoughts.

This was a book that I remember really loving. Tiffany writes so effortlessly. I remember being so invested in this story that I could not put it down. I think I read it in a day. I connected to the main character very quickly. It didn’t matter that I was in my early 20’s and she was a teenager. This is something Tiffany does well with all of her characters.

So if you guys are looking for a quick read this holiday season I say pick this one up. It is FREE. So you have nothing to lose.

Christmas Tag – Tag Tuesday!

Hello, my Wonderlandians! I hope you Tuesday is going great. I thought it would be fun to answer some questions. I want to do a tag Tuesday on this page. So what better way to kick this off than with a Christmas or holiday tag.

1. Whats your favorite holiday movie?

My favorite holiday movie would have to be Home Alone hands down. I loved watching it when I was a little kid. My sister and I would try and watch it every year.

2. Whats your favorite Christmas color?

I think it would have to be green. It reminds me of the valley and the Christmas tree.

3. Do you like to stay in your pajamas or dress up for Christmas?

Pajamas. I need to be comfortable the whole day.

4. If you could only buy one person a present this year who would it be?

My boyfriend. I can’t put into words what he means to me. We have together practically like ten years.

5. Do you open your present Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Both. Christmas eve with my dads side of the family. Christmas day with my moms side and my boyfriends side.
