2017 Cleveland Rocks Romance Contest – Second Place Winner ’Tis the season for an office romance! Working beyond nine to five and barely getting by, Melanie Thomas is eager to celebrate the impending holiday season and to toast the start of her dream marketing job over drinks with her boyfriend. Unfortunately, he has different plans – like seeing other women. Indulging in a pity party with tequila, Melanie confides in a sexy stranger at the bar. It’s almost Christmas. One night of letting go won’t hurt anything, right? Turns out, it just might, when the stranger is her new boss. Determined to succeed at her job, Melanie won’t be scared away. This is her chance, even if her hot boss has her feeling all merry and bright and wishing for a less-than-professional relationship. Matthew Ryans is burned out and on thin ice at the company he helped build, unless he gets his head back in the game. Yet, his head, both upper and lower, are quickly becoming obsessed with his new assistant. Still, he can’t seem to fully begrudge Melanie’s distracting presence and the Christmas joy she brings with it. Especially considering that her enthusiasm has him reenergized. For once, he is longing for Mondays, but with his heart and job on the line, he can’t risk blurring the lines no matter how strong the lure of holiday mistletoe is. Will their holiday passion be able to fuel mutual career success, or will it only get in their way in the New Year?

Narrator Bio

Verla Bond is an American actor, improvisor, and storyteller, who makes her home in Los Angeles, California. She enjoys performing on the stage and screen, but especially loves recording audiobooks, where she gets the privilege of playing all kinds of diverse characters, such as British vampires, Irish leprechauns, and Southern gentlemen.

Mine to Five was such a fun an fast read for me. Tara September writes such interesting characters that keep you wanting more. That is one thing that keeps me going back to an author. Verla Bond is a new to me voice actress. Verla has such smooth voice and keeps you engaged the entire time. She has a nice range of voice s for the different characters. I was able to tell who was speaking. This is one thing that I look for when it comes to a narrator. Being able to tell who is speaking important so that was you know who the character.

I would recommend this to everyone and anyone. When it comes to the audiobook I will pretty much always choose the audiobook this one is no exception.

This is a short book so I don’t want to go into detail because I don’t want to give anything away. The production was very professional.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Tara September. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

  1. Waffle fries or curly fries? – Neither. I like crispy steak frites … or McDonald’s fries, I know, but they are sooo good.
  2. GIF with a hard g or soft g? – Hard, like my men, lol.
  3. Fantasy or science-fiction? Hmm both, but if pressed I’d say Sci-Fi. Love me some Star Wars.
  4. Superman or Batman? – Superman! He’s super, it’s in his name after all. This is actually a debate the hero and heroine have in my holiday office romance, Mine to Five.
  5. Text message or call? – TXT! I have a phobia about having to sort out issues over the phone with strangers. Contest a bill or having to call customer service? Ugh the worst. So if I can just send a strongly worded email instead, even better! Even my besties have accepted that I’m not the friend that will chat on the phone for hours. Rather do that in-person or on my blog.
  6. Pancakes or waffles? – Waffles. It comes with built-in grooves to hold my syrup, whip cream and other toppings.
  7. Doctor Who or the Walking Dead? I haven’t seen either *ducks for cover*
  8. TV Shows or movies? Movies. I saw every film on the AFI 100 list before I graduated high school. My favorite actress is Katharine Hepburn.
  9. Facebook or Twitter? Twitter for fun, Facebook for business.
  10. Alice in Wonderland or Robinson Crusoe? Meh to both. But since Robinson Crusoe is technically considered the first novel ever, much is owed to Defoe for paving the way for today’s literature. <Tara tips imaginary hat and puts on imaginary opera gloves>
  11. Being too warm or too cold? I live in Florida for a reason.
  12. Netflix or Hulu? Netflix. I’m OG like that. I used to have their DVD rental service, lol.
  13. Work Hard or Play Hard? Play on player!
  14. Passenger or Driver? Driver, because in our family that means I have control of the radio and can play an audiobook or Yacht Rock Radio. Plus, I can never sleep in the car anyway, so I might as well drive.
  15. Amusement Park or Day at the Beach? In Florida we can do both 😉 I’m a huge Disney addict. Used to work for Disney corporate out in LA.
  16. Honesty or Other’s Feelings? Other’s feelings!
  17. Movie at Home or Movie at the Theater? Theater. About two-thirds of the way back, in the center of the row. If not, I’ll wait in the lobby eating nachos and sour patch kids until the next showing. My husband meanwhile will likely have given up and will see something else solo. Oh, and I LOVE previews. If we arrive after the previews, I’ll wait for the next showing, lol.

Free Friday – Baby Mine (Roommate Duet Series Book 1)

Baby Mine (Roommate Duet Series Book 1) by [Fox, Kennedy]

I saw her first.
Blonde. Gorgeous. Feisty.
I was smitten.

But it didn’t matter because she chose him and he was my best friend and roommate. I’d never be able to compete with that, so I pushed her away instead. It was easy when she lived hours away, and I didn’t have to see her every day, but then she moved in with us.
Now, I’m screwed.

To her singing in the shower every morning, dancing in the kitchen while she makes coffee, and doing yoga in our living room, I can’t stop thinking about her in all the wrong ways. She’s not mine and never will be, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to push her against a wall and claim her mouth.

She’s constantly on me for making messes, bringing chicks home every weekend, and being a smartass when their PDA gets on my nerves. Considering neither of them know how I feel, it’s not fair for the way I act toward them. I should move out so I can get over her for good; however, the selfish part of me can’t let go.

But then the unthinkable happens…
When my best friend dies in a motorcycle accident, the two of us are left to grieve our loss together. Instead of pushing her away, I pull her closer.

Just as we come to terms with our new reality, she finds out she’s pregnant with his baby.
And I’m left to make the hardest decision of my life…

**BABY MINE is an angsty, emotional, slow-burn unrequited romance wrapped up in a heartbreakingly delicious love story. It’s book 1 in the Hunter & Lennon duet of the Roommate Duet Series and must be read first. Recommended for ages 18+ only.**

Series Review – It’s Not a Over and Just Get Started

Hello everyone. I’ve just wanted to say I’m sorry it’s been a while since I’ve had a review go up. I’ve had a lot of scheduled content going up lately that I pre-scheduled earlier in January and I am quite thankful that I was that prepared because at the end of January my fiancé and I got some news that has been life-changing. I will do a whole blog post on that probably in a month or so. We are just not ready to share that information publicly. I do have a review for you guys today over two books so it’ll be a mini review. I want to give a huge thank you to give me book promotions. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have gotten these two amazing books and I highly recommend them.

So each of these books were written by Keylee Ryan and Lacey Black. Set this review is gonna be a little bit different because I want to talk about both books together. This duo is new for me. I have read Miss Ryan books before but I’ve never read miss black books before. So the combination of them writing was magical. You get really sucked in to each story line. I am definitely one for audiobooks more so than e-books nowadays but I got sucked in right away. This is how you know that these authors have true ability because as someone who does prefer audiobooks I did get sucked into the E books to where I wouldn’t put them down for hours. And that’s bad because I’m a college student so schoolwork. In the first story it’s a second chance romance and you absolutely fall in love because it’s not your typical second chance romance. Harrison and Winnie are such a beautiful couple and you can see the true love that they have for each other. Then on the flipside of that you have Gabby and cheese who are more so I hate to love if you will. Gabby and Chase don’t really get along. Chase is to be considered that of a playboy but he really loves Gabby deep down. It takes a minute for Gabby to To see Chase as something other than a playboy and I really appreciate all the effort that these amazing authors went to the craft these amazing stories.

Once again a big thank you to give me book promotions for sending me the arcs. This review is no way influenced by the fact that I did receive advanced reader copies. All opinions on his books are my own and that is not going to change because I receive these books
