Audiobook Review – Imperfect Love

Genre: Erotic Romance

At 24 years old, Holly Scallanger has the perfect life. She has everything a girl could want; a beautiful man, a stunning home, as well as being in the midst of preparing for the wedding of her dreams. This all vanishes the night she catches her fiancé, Brandon Morgan, in bed with her worst nightmare, Donna Sinclair, just a week before Holly is set to walk down the aisle.

Attempting to recover from his betrayal, Holly swears off the affections of men in order to pick up the pieces of her crumbling life. Unfortunately, meeting Jake ‘Hooligan’ Peters is not part of her plan. The tall, dark-haired, and handsome-as-hell med student sweeps Holly away from the pain of her past and reveals to her the bright future that lies ahead. That is, until she falls pregnant just as Jake begins his internship at P&E; his family’s hospital.

Will this love at first sight lead her to the fairytale she has always craved? Or, will she fall victim to a betrayal of the heart yet again?

Narrator Bio

Stefanie Kay lives on the East Coast of the US with her husband and two young boys. She’s always been a book lover and has a background in performing arts. Narration has become a passion and she loves having the honor of bringing these stories to life. She has narrated Paranormal Romance for DB Sieders, Chick-Lit for Charlotte Roth, and Romance for Isabella White, loving how each author has created such depth and layered stories that are easy to get lost in and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters.

This was an interesting audiobook. I love how I could just zone out and be in another world while listening this book. Isabella White wrote this book back in 2015 and it seems from the research I did that this was her first novel. I feel in some way you could tell that this was her first novel because there were some parts where she was tell us instead of showing us. I can over look this because I love her characters. Now I feel like this book really does move fast with the whole istalove thing but I was never bothered by this fact. The characters clicked right off bat. Then all things go crazy. I will leave it here with that because spoilers I will not give.

This is the first time I have ever heard Stefanie Kay. She was pleasant listen to. Her tone was even and didn’t take away from the over all story line. Stefanie had a decent range of voice for the characters. Again I could just get lost and be transported some place else which is where I need to be lately.

The production was out of this world.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Isabella White. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

  1. Nice review though I’m not sure it is for me – the whole catching someone in bed with someone else just before they get married and then they decide to move on/find themselves/have fun etc has been written about over and over again.
