Hello, my wonderlandians! How did your Wednesday go? I am so sorry for the late post. Today was my day off so my boyfriend and I went to the movies. We went to go see the downsizing today and that movie was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be like a comedy and it started off as a comedy but then it ventured into something completely different. So like literally I was watching two different movies but like not really.
So this is the reason why today’s post is so late my day off. Boyfriend and I went to go see a movie and then I came home and I started Netflixing it up. I have barely got any reading done today but since it is only 8:30 at the time of me writing this I’m hoping you got a couple of hours in.
Without further ado here is what I’m reading on this amazing Wednesday.
The underwater world of Natatoria is enjoying a long awaited period of peace — and with it, the merpeople’s very first chance to visit human civilization. Ash and Fin’s wedding marks the perfect opportunity for the mers to celebrate their newfound freedom. But when they return home to Tahoe to prepare, Ash’s absence from the human world has raised more than a few questions about where she’s been. When blaming fingers point to Ash and Fin as the culprits who burned down Fin’s home, even his mindjacking mojo can’t stop the authorities from issuing the happy couple an early wedding gift — a matching pair of arrest warrants.
Instead of bringing their families together, Ash and Fin’s upcoming wedding drives a wedge between the very cultures they’re trying to bridge. And when their reality takes an unexpected twist, Ash realizes her dual existence comes with a hefty price. Neither her human nor her mer family understand the sacrifices they’re asking of her, and as much as she wants to please both her mer and human mothers, she knows she’s one misstep away from breaking two maternal hearts. With evil Uncle Alaster taking advantage of things while everyone is distracted, intent on using the old laws to elevate his own bloodline, the sacred rules that once protected the mer secret have left everyone on the brink of exposure. Ash and Fin must scramble to save their families, their societies . . . and their love. The only thing they know for sure is that when it comes to Natatorians, old habits die hard.
And a royal should never get too comfortable.
My tempting and very alpha friend Sterling Quinn is someone I consider off-limits.
It’s not just that we’re friends, he’s also cocky, confident, and British, which means he’s a walking aphrodisiac.
But lately, he’s been giving me the look. You know the one. When he thinks I’m not paying attention, and his gaze lingers for too long.
When we start working together, that’s when the sexual tension between us gets so thick, I want to hack through it with a machete. I want to make all these deep feelings I’ve harbored for him disappear because there’s no way this can end well.
The lines between business and pleasure become irrevocably blurred, and I’m stuck between a rock and Sterling’s very, very hard place.
Rather than keep a level head about our growing attraction, Sterling wants to go all in, showing me just how explosive we can be together.
But I’ve been around long enough to know that this British bad boy is more than my heart can handle. I’m not about to be cast aside like yesterday’s underwear when he’s done having fun.
Sterling’s never been told no, and he’s not about to put his ego aside and play by my rules. But I never thought he’d fight so dirty.
“Your daughter will be one of the most powerful we have ever seen in this family. She will be a beacon for us all.”
Tamsin Greene comes from a long line of witches, and on the day she was born, her grandmother proclaimed she would be one of the most Talented among them.
But Tamsin’s magic never showed up.
Now, seventeen years later, she spends most of her time at boarding school in Manhattan, where she can at least pretend to be normal. But during the summers, she’s forced to return home and work at her family’s bookstore/magic shop.
One night a handsome young professor from New York University arrives in the shop and mistakes Tamsin for her extremely Talented older sister. For once, it’s Tamsin who’s being looked at with awe and admiration, and before she can stop herself, she agrees to find a family heirloom for him that was lost more than a century ago. But the search – and the stranger – prove to be more sinister than they first appeared, ultimately sending Tamsin on a treasure hunt through time that will unlock the secret of her true identity, unearth the past sins of her family, and unleash a power so strong and so vengeful that it could destroy them all.
In a spellbinding display of storytelling, Carolyn MacCullough interweaves witchcraft, romance, and time travel in a fantasy that will exhilarate, enthrall, and thoroughly enchant.
What are you all reading this week?
Thank you all for joining me here in our little part of wonderland. Don’t forget to feed the unicorns on your way out.
